QLD - Business Basics Grant Program | Access $5,000 for Eligible Small Businesses

The QLD Government has announced the details of its Business Basics Grant Program, designed to help small businesses increase core capabilities & skills, and adopt new best practice methodologies. 

Open from 31 May 2021, the Grant will provide eligible businesses with a single up-front fixed payment of $5,000 to support activities in five key areas:

Key Priorities / Eligible Activities Examples
Training & Coaching
  • Business Development, Marketing, Human Resources, or Business Planning topics;
  • Training or coaching
Website Build or Upgrades
  • Website build or upgrade (including website refresh);
  • Adding e-commerce;
  • Developing new website content
Professional Business Advice
  • Business Plans
Strategic Marketing Services
  • Strategic marketing plans - including search engine optimisation advice
Business Continuity & Succession
  • Business Continuity or Succession Plans
  • Cybersafety training and tools

The Business Basics Grant is available to Queensland headquartered businesses with fewer than 20 employees, who are registered for GST & hold an active ABN. The eligibility criteria also states businesses must have a turnover of $300,000 or less for the current Financial Year.

Program funding will be offered until 30 June 2021, or until fully allocated (whichever comes first).
