On Tuesday, 25th October, Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers handed down the 2022/23 Albanese Government - Federal Budget, providing a brief introduction into Labor's priorities to steady the peak of inflation and manage Australia's economic deficit.

As part of my Chairman’s Address this month, I wanted to take this opportunity to share my thoughts on the Professional Services industry and the current business factors impacting those within the sector and of a similar nature.

As originally announced in this year's March Federal Budget by the then-Morrison Government, new reforms surrounding Employee Share Schemes (ESS) available to employees have now received Royal Assent, with revised legislation to take effect from 1 October 2022.

Over the past 24 hours, the Palaszczuk Government released their QLD State Budget 2022-23, dedicated to creating more jobs across industries, delivering better services, and protecting the Queensland lifestyle.

On Tuesday, 29th March, Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg delivered the 2022/23 Federal Budget, focused on supporting Australians against the rising cost of living, and build the post-pandemic recovery for the economy as this begins to take shape.

This has been a quarter of drama from extreme weather events to devastating wars, from hype around inflation to hype of rising interest rates, from the passing of sporting icons to the commencement of the winter football codes – our thoughts are with everyone that has been affected.

Following the ‘Disaster Recovery Payment’ program released in support of those affected by the South-East Queensland floods, further financial aid has now been released through the ‘Disaster Recovery Allowance – February 2022’ payment program.

We would like to extend our thoughts to those facing hardship or who may have been impacted by the recent floods throughout areas of South-East Queensland & NSW.

It’s been the question on everyone’s lips for the past few years, will the global pandemic result in the “death” of the Central Business District as we know it?
